About Under the same sky
Under the same sky is
- an educational initiative. Students from schools in Denmark and Kenya commit themselves as agents of change by exchanging knowledge through modern technology. The main tools used are computers, cameras, and mobile phones. www.underthesamesky.dk is the ‘meeting place’, where the Danish and Kenyan students present their views and exchange news with each other.
- a partnership between three primary schools in Kibera (Kenya) and eight primary schools in Denmark. The main aim is to strengthen the contact ‘school to school’.
- a collaboration between Development Education Center, O3V, the Organisation for Sustainable Energy, OVE, Umande Trust and thirteen primary schools.

O3V
The Development education centre (Oplysningscenter om den 3. verden – O3V) was founded in 1989. O3V produces educational activities in Danish schools on global issues in cooperation with local and national NGOs. O3V is the only Danish organisation specialised in meetings between people from different cultures in connection to development education. We encourage Danish schools to engage mediators from the third world to teach children about foreign cultures and global issues in general.
O3V is a resource centre based in Århus, Denmark. We have a specialist library of development education materials, books, audiovisual materials, periodicals etc. and we produce our own development education materials and theme boxes with artefacts from third world countries.
We are cooperating with other NGOs on various projects, and sometimes they seek advice and information regarding children, school, learning, and pedagogy from us.
